Please note that there is no scheme of Government to provide free tour package with flight tickets and those who offer this are frauds. it's clearly mentioned in Central Government's notification that tickets can only be purchased from M/s Balmer Lawrie & Company, M/s Ashok Travels & Tours, IRCTC and any misuse of LTC will be viewed seriously and the employees will be liable for appropriate action under the rules. In order to keep a check on any kind of misuse of LTC, Ministries/ Departments are advised to randomly get some of the air tickets submitted by the officials verified from the Airlines concerned with regard to the actual cost of air travel vis-a-vis the cost indicated on the air tickets submitted by the officials.
How Travel Agencies promise full refund under LTC?
Some travel agencies promise full refund of the expenses including Airfare, Hotels, Vehicle, Meals, etc., during the tour. They achieve this by manipulating the printed price in the ticket, for example under LTC 80 Concession rule one can purchase ticket for Delhi – Port Blair with fare up to Rs. 25166/- but suppose in Air India website tickets are available for Rs. 15,000/-. So, they will buy tickets for 15,000/- and will edit the fare on the tickets as Rs. 25,166/- (which is forgery and calls legal action under IPC Section 420), now the difference amount for one way ticket is Rs. 10,166/-, for a return ticket it becomes Rs. 20,332/-. Now they will spend Rs. 10,000/- on your tour and the remaining goes to their profit. So, they are playing with your job and career to earn money by making fool of you.
